Referring to her ponytail in a 2014 Facebook post, Grande said, "As annoying as it is for y’all to have to look at the same hair style all the time, it’s all that works for now".
In fact, that’s how she would often wear her hair at the start of her career, but she later turned to extensions after her hair became damaged due to dyeing it red to play Cat Valentine on Victorious and Sam & Cat.
Though it seems like Grande’s hair is now in a much healthier place, we’re also all for her wearing it however she pleases, because that ponytail is pretty iconic now, after all.
Though not a frequent occurrence, this isn’t the first time Grande has offered a look at her natural hair.
The singer recently shared a selfie featuring her naturally curly hair, which is often hidden under long (and sometimes blond) hair extensions.
Ariana Grande looks like a lovely mermaid in this rare curly-hair selfie. 🐚 https://t.co/elG2lIJg3J— POPSUGAR Beauty (@POPSUGARBeauty) April 4, 2020
